In accordance with Clause (c) of Article 4 of the Articles of Association of the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, its Governing Council shall meet in its capacity as the Principal Review and Deliberative Body responsible for determining policy and programme. According to Clause (d) of Article 4 of the Articles of Association, the Representatives of the Member Countries at the Governing Council shall normally be of Ministerial Rank.

The Governing Council being the principal organ of SACEP, will at this meeting, among other matters, guide, oversee its functioning and approve the Programme and Secretariat Budget. Representation at Governing Council Meetings is generally at Ministerial Level supported by high-level country delegations.

25th January 2007: 10th Meeting of the Governing Council of SACEP

It shall be the function of the meetings to review the progress of the implementation of the decisions of the Governing Council at its 9th meeting held in Thimphu, Bhutan during August 2005 and finalise details to the proposal from the Secretariat for the next biennium.

SACEP Secretariat will constantly update information relating to the meeting, hotel accommodation, contact details, arrival and departure formalities in due course.
