SACEP and ADB working together to assist its member countries in implementing their NDCs

Director General of South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, Dr. Abas Basir met with the delegation of the Asia Development Bank (ADB), Ms. Preety BHANDARI, Director, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Division and Mr. Michael Rattinger, Senior Climate change Specialist, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Division, Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department, during the recently concluded UNFCCC, COP 24 held in Katowice, Poland on 11th December 2018.

The meeting was a follow-up to the initial meeting held at the ADB Headquarters in Manila in October 2018 where the discussions were held on how both SACEP and ADB could assist the member states of South Asia on Implementing NDC’s in their respective countries. At the meeting in Katowice ADB agreed to join with SACEP to organize a workshop in 2019 to “Asses the status of NDCs implementation in South Asia “and to assist the SACEP member countries in implementing Paris Agreement.
