SACEP delegation to the CMS CoP13 had a bi-lateral meeting with newly appointed executive secretary of CMS on 19th February 2020 at the CMS CoP13 venue. A representative of UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific also participated. During the meeting both SACEP and CMS discussed the possible areas of mutual interest in implementing CMS related activities at the South Asia region and agreed to work together in the future. It was also discussed the importance of private sector engagement as development activities like, windmills, power lines, infrastructure (roads, highways, rail lines) are affecting the migratory species.
